The Optimist Club of Ilderton is an active and energetic club that is very involved in the community and understand that anything is possible when we all work together.  In recent years, we have built a soccer field, a skate park, a splash pad, a multi-use court and provided playground equipment for the children and youth of the community.

We have donated to Women's Shelter in Strathroy, Children's Hospital in London, Children's Health Foundation and the Ailsa Craig Food Bank.

Among our many causes, we have sponsored youth athletic leagues, the 4H Club, Scouts & Guides, the Early Years Centre, a new Inpatient Wing at the Children's Hospital, and the
Bravery Bead Program.

Through the schools, we have conducted an annual Spelling Bee, an Essay Contest, and a presented Citizenship Awards.

We have host many popular events such as Santa's Breakfast, Morning with Santa, the New Year's Family Skate Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Fair parade and lunch, Bike Safety Rodeo, and Road Hockey Tournament.

New Members are always welcome!

ABOUT US

Every Optimist Club was formed by people who
wanted to reach out to help youth and the
community. People like you and me. Members
of an Optimist Club usually live in or work in
the community. Members have joined together
to serve others and to promote Optimism as a
way of life.

Each Optimist Club is chartered as a Member of
Optimist International. This gives the Club the
right to use the Optimist name and provides
each Club with services and programs offered by Optimist International.

Each Optimist Club operates autonomously.
This means they operate independently of each
other. They choose their own activities, elect
their own Officers and raise their own funds.
A Club’s service activities are based on the needs of the community. What a Club can do is
limited only by imagination and resources of

the Members.
